Kalmbach Publishing Co. hires Books Department Editor-in-Chief and Group Circulation Manager

Waukesha, Wis. — Kalmbach Publishing Co. names Dianne Wheeler as the Books Department new editor-in-chief, and Kathy Steele as the new Group Circulation Manager for BeadStyle, Trains, American Snowmobiler, and Cabin Life magazines.

As editor-in-chief, Wheeler will plan, manage, and lead the Kalmbach Books Department. Her duties include establishing a profitable business unit by developing a cohesive team, setting the publishing plan for the full line of hobby titles, contracting with top authors, and expanding the portfolio.
Wheeler most recently worked on manuscript acquisitions and content editing with her husband at Wheeler Communications. Prior to that she was employed at F&W Media, Inc. in Iola, Wis., where she served as Publisher/Editorial Director overseeing books and magazines for a diverse enthusiast audience.
Wheeler holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in education from the University of Kentucky.
Wheeler resides in Plainfield, Ill., with her husband. The two plan to relocate to Wisconsin in the near future. |

Kathy Steele, Group Circulation Manager
As Group Circulation Manager, Steele will be responsible for all aspects of circulation marketing including print, websites, e-mail, shows, and special-interest publications. For the past 12 years, Steele has worked at The Reader’s Digest Association/Reiman Media Group in Greendale, Wis. There she held various circulation positions, most recently as Renewals Manager for all 14 Reader’s Digest publications including Taste of Home, Family Handyman, and Reader’s Digest. She is a graduate of Mount Mary College in Wauwatosa, Wis., with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
Steele lives in Waukesha with her husband and their three children.
