Carl Swanson named Editor of Classic Toy Trains magazine

Waukesha, Wisconsin — Kalmbach Publishing Co. has named Carl Swanson as the new Editor of Classic Toy Trains (CTT) magazine. Carl replaces Neil Besougloff, who is leaving CTT to become Editor of Model Railroader magazine.

Carl previously spent three of his nine years at Kalmbach on the staff of CTT. He also worked at Trains magazine before joining Model Railroader, where most recently he was a senior editor. He is the author of the Kalmbach book Faces of Railroading and previously edited the special edition Model Trains Step By Step.

An avid model railroader in his spare time, Carl studied journalism at the University of Nebraska and photography at the Woodland School of Photography.

Published nine times per year, CTT is the leading magazine in the toy train hobby, with a circulation of 50,000.

Kalmbach publishes 15 hobby and leisure-time magazines, numerous books and other products, and promotes related information on 20 Internet sites. The company employs nearly 300 people at its office located at 21027 Crossroads Circle, Waukesha, Wisconsin.
